A. Tính từ
 1. Tính từ 1 âm tiết
 Đối với tính từ 1 âm tiết thì ta thêm _er cho so sánh tương đối và _est cho so sánh tuyệt đối

Đối với những tính từ tận cùng bằng 1 nguyên âm+ 1 phụ âm thì ta gấp đôi phụ âm trước khi thêm _er hoặc est

Những tính từ tận cùng bằng “e” thì ta chỉ thêm _r hoặc _st

Những tính từ tận cùng bằng 1 phụ âm + “y” ta đổi “y” thành “i” rồi mới thêm _er hoặc _est
Nếu tính từ tận cùng bằng nguyên âm + “y” thì ta để nguyên

2. Tính từ 2 âm tiết
 a) Những tính từ 2 âm tiết tận cùng bằng: er; le; ow; y thì ta thêm _er và _est

 b) Những tính từ 2 âm tiết còn lại và những tính từ 3 âm tiết trở lên ta dùng more với so sánh tương đối và most cho so sánh tuyệt đối.

 c) Những trường hợp bất qui tắc:

 C. Các mức độ so sánh:
 I. So sánh bằng:
 S1 + V + as+ adj/adv; many/few + N/ much; little + N + as + S2 + Aux
 Eg: - She is as beautiful as her sister 
She runs as fast as I do / me 
My friend has as many book as me
You can drink as much milk as you like.
II. So sánh không bằng: 
S1 + V not + as/so + adj/adv; many/much + N + S2 
Eg: 
She isn’t as clever as her sister (is)
You don’t run so quickly as me 
You don’t get so many present me Christmas
III. So sánh hơn:
So sánh hơn đối với tính từ ngắn và tính từ dài tận cùng bằng le; er; ow; y trạng từ ngắn
 S1 + V {short adj/adv _er} + than + S2
 Eg: 
This building is shorter than that building.
I learn English better than you.
Đối với tính từ dài và trạng từ dài (2 âm tiết trở lên) trừ bất quy tắc: 
 S1 + V + more+{long adj/adv} + than +S2 	 
Eg: 
I run more quickly than you .
I am more handsome than you.
IV. So sánh kém: :
S1 + V + less + {adj/adv} + than + S2
 Eg: 
Your book is less interesting than my book
You grow up less fast than me 
Tất cả có thể áp dụng hình thức so sánh hơn hoặc kém đối với danh từ :
 S1 + V+ {more/ less/ fewer} + N + than + S2
Eg:
I have more book than you.
You have fewer brothers than her.
I drink less wine than you.
V. So sánh tuyệt đối:
1. So sánh hơn hết: 
S+ V + the + short adj/adv_EST + of all / period of time/
 most + long adj/ adv in a group of people/ place
Eg: 
I’m the rickest of all
He runs the fastest in my class.
- Jerry is the most handsome of three people
 2. So sánh kém nhất:
S + V + the least + {adj/adv} + 
Eg:
-This film is the least interesting of all.
Dùng hính thức so sánh tuyệt đối với danh từ 
S + V + {the most/ the least/ the fewest}+ N + .
Eg:
Tom has the most apples of all
He has the least work in his group
I have the fewest days off of my friends
VI. So sánh kép:
Càng ngày (lúc)càng:
Short adj
Adj _er and adj _er
 	 Eg: 
The day is getting shorter and shorter.
Long adj: 
 More and more _ adj 
Eg: - She is more and more attractive
Càng.càng:
 The comparative + (S+V)
 The comparative + (S+V)
Eg: The more, the merrier
VII. Comparation of Similarity:
The same: 
S+ be+ the same 
Eg: Our school bags are the same 
S+ be+ the same + N 
Eg: They has the same bike.
S+ be+ the same +as+ S2
Eg: My pen is the same as yours
S+ be + the same+ N (tính chất)+as+ S2
Alike, like, similar:
Our school bags are similar/ alike.
My school bag is like yours/ similar to yours.
So sánh khác nhau : 
different: 
 S+ be+ different
Eg: They are different 
Different from:
S+be+ different from + S2
Eg: I’m different from my brother .
