 UNIT 15:GRAMMAR POINTS
1.Can,could,be able to +inf:
	Can,could và be able to đợc dùng để chỉ khả năng ai đó có thể làm đợc việc gì.Khi nói về khả năng của một ngời chúng ta thờng dùng can(can’t) ở thì hiện tại,could(couldn’t)ở thì quá khứ và will be able to ở thì tơng lai. 
Eg.Nam can swim 1,000 metters now.Last year,he couldn’t swim at all.
He will be able to swim the English Channal sôn.
*Khi nói về hành động cụ thể trong một tình huống,hoàn cảnh đặc biệt ở quá khứ,chúng ta không dùng could mà dùng was/were able to
Eg. The player hurt in his leg,but he was able to play to the end.
	At last we were able to reach the top in the rain.
*Can/could còn đợc dùng khi chúng ta yêu cầu ai đó làm một việc gì.
Eg.Can you wait for a moment? Can/could you tell me how to get to the post office?
-Lu ý:Could là cách nói lịch sự của can.
*Để yêu cầu có đợc một điều gì,chúng ta có thể nói:Can I have...?/Could I have...?
Eg.Can I have these books ,please?-or:Could I have more salt,please?
*Can/could còn đợc dùng khi xin phép và cho phép làm một điều gì.
Eg.Can/Could I use your pen?-Yes,you can.
-Lu ý:Could không đợc dùng khi cho phép mà chỉ dùng can
*Can còn đợc dùng khi chúng ta đề nghị giúp ai làm gì.
Eg.Can I help you? Can I get you a glass of water?
2:Câu hỏi đuôi: *Quy tắc chung:
a.Câu nói ở phần đuôi luôn ở dạng đối.Eg.He is a student,isn’t he? /They can’t swim,can they?
-Khi câu nói có từ phủ định(never,seldom...) thì phần đuôi ở dạng xác định.
He seldom goes to the cinema,does he?
b.Chủ từ của phần đuôi luôn luôn là đại từ nhân xng.
-Chủ từ của câu nói là đại từ:chúng ta lặp lại đại từ này.
Eg.She works in a bank,doesn’t she?
-Chủ từ là danh từ:chúng ta dùng đại từ tơng ứng thay thế.
Eg.Mary is studying English,isn’t she?
-Trờng hợp đặc biệt:
*Đại từ THIS/THAT đợc thay bằng IT;THESE/THOSE thay bằng THEY.
Eg.This is her bag,isn’t it?
 These are new books,aren’t they?
*THERE ở THERE +BE đợc dùng lại ở phần đuôi.
Eg.There is a new park,isn’t there?
*NOTHING,EVERYTHING :đợc thay thế bằng IT.
Everything is ready,isn’t it?
*NO ONE,NOBODY,EVERYONE,EVERYBODY,SOMEONE,SOMEBODY,ANYONE,
ANYBODY:đợc thay bằng THEY ở phần đuôi
Eg.Nobody liked the play,did they?
c.Động từ của phần đuôi
*Câu nói có trợ động từ:trợ động từ đợc lặp lại ở phần đuôi
S+trợ động từ+V-chính,trợ động từ+đại từ?
Eg.He will go to school,won’t he?
*Câu nói không có trợ động từ,nghĩa là động từ thờng,chúng ta dùng DO/DID ở phần đuôi.
Chú ý:Động từ ở phần đuôi dạng phủ định luôn đợc viết ở dạng rút gọn.
2.Một số dạng đặc biệt
a.Trong tiếng Anh nói,phần đuôi của I AM là AREN’T I?
Eg.I am going to do it,aren’t I?
b.Câu mệnh lệnh:
-câu mệnh lệnh xác định:WON’T YOU? đợc thêm ở phần đuôi để diễn tả lời mời.
Eg.Do take a seat,won’t you?(mời ông ngồi)
WILL/WOULD/CAN/CAN’T YOU? đợc thêm ở phần đuôi để diễn tả lời yêu câu lịch sự.
Eg.Do open the window,will you?(xin vui lòng mở cửa sổ)
-Câu mệnh lệnh phủ định WILL đợc thêm ở phần đuôi để diễn tả lời yêu cầu xc f
Eg.Don’t talk here,will you?
*Câu yêu cầu:WILL YOU thờng đợc thêm vào phần đuôi.
 Please+(don’t)+V+O...,WILL YOU?
Eg.Please keep silent in the rooms,will you?
c.Phần đuôi của LET’S+V... là SHALL WE?
Eg.Let’s go for a picnic this weekend,shall we?
d.OUGHT TO có phần đuôi là SHOULDN’T?
Eg.He ought to practise listening more regularly,shouldn’t he?
(Anh ta nên luyện tập thờng xuyên hơn ,phải không?)
