1.Pronounce the words : book, book/shop,ba/ke/ry and su/per/mar/ket and in close the sentences 
I want to buy a book,Let’s go to the book/shop, The bread in this ba/ke/ry is delicious and Let’s 
go to the su/per/mar/ket.
2. Identify the specific information from 4 sentences about some places. through a recording and 
circle and write the correct answer.
3. Perform the chant “Why do you want to ?”in interesting ways;

Activity 1: Warmer play a game 
 - Play matching game: give some phrases and words to match.
Activity 2: Presentation (Listen and repeat - page 44)
-Tell Ss that they are going to practice saying the words book/shop,ba/ke/ry and su/per/mar/ket 
respectively.
- Put the words book/shop,ba/ke/ry and su/per/mar/ket on the board. Play the recording and ask 
Ss to repeat a few times. Then put the words book/shop,ba/ke/ry and su/per/mar/ket in the 
sentences I want to buy a book,Let’s go to the book/shop, The bread in this ba/ke/ry is delicious 
and Let’s go to the su/per/mar/ket on the board. Play the recording more than once, if necessary, 
and let Ss say the words and the sentences, paying attention to the target sounds.
- Do choral and individual repetition of the words and sentences until Ss feel confident.
- Get some ss to say the sentences in front of the class. Correct pronunciation, if necessary.
Activity 3: Listening practice (Activity 2: Listen,circle and write. Then say aloud page 44)
- Tell ss that they are going to listen to the recording and circle the correct phrases to complete 
the sentences.
- Give ss a few seconds to read the sentences in silence and guess the phrases to fill the gaps.
- Have ss listen to the recording and circle the appropriate phrases. Have ss swap their answers 
before checking as a class. Go around and offer help,if necessary.
- Get ss to read the sentences aloud.

Activity 4: Chant practice (Activity 3: Let’s chant on page 44) - Present the chant “Why do you want to ? “Get Ss to read the lyrics in silence,check 
comprehension and give feedback.
- Play audio (activity 3 page 44) for Ss to repeat each line twice. 
- Show Ss how to mime the chant.
- Get Ss to practise the chant in groups. Encourage them to perform the chant with appropriate 
and meaningful gestures. 
- Call on some groups to perform the chant in front of the class.
Activity 7: Wrap-up & Assignments
- Ask students to answer the following questions: 
 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? 
(learn some words and sentences, practice and perform the chant with appropriate and 
meaningful gestures.)
 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? 
(show respect for each other when do together and positive attitude somewhere to go with 
appropriate intonation and meaningful gestures.)

1. Know how to read the words that has one word, two words, three words and four words.
2. Read the paragraph and number the pictures. 
3. Read and fill the gapped sentences, using the pictures. 
4. Interview three classmates about where they want to go on Sunday, and the reasons for going 
there. Report the interviews to the class.

 - Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson. Get to groups of pupils to the play the game

- Tell the class that they are going to read the text and number the pictures.
- Get pupils to look at the pictures and describe them. After that, have them read the text and put 
the pictures in the correct order. Get them to work in pairs or small groups.
- Give the st time to do the task independently.
- Get pupils to swap their answers before checking as a class.

- Tell pupils that they are going to write sentences about where the characters want to go and 
why they want to go there.

Warmer: Greeting and watching
- Greet the students. Ask pupils to play Bingo ,using numbers.
- Lead into new lesson.
- Tell students that they are going to read a dialogue in which two people ask and answer questions 
about places.
Activity 1: Language input (Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat.)
- Ask students to look at the 4 pictures (page 46) and answer questions to identify the situation for 
the conversation.
 1. Who are they? (Mai and Quan,Mai’s mother and saleman)
 2. Where are they? (in the clothes shop. )
 3. What are they doing?( ask about prices and buying clothes.)
- Ask students to look at picture b (Activity 1) (page 46) and answer the following questions: 
 4. What does Mai’s mother ask? (How much is it?)
 5. What does saleman answer? (It’s 50,000 dong.)
- Elicit the sentence patterns: “How much is the ? It’s ...”
- Tell students that they are going to practise asking and answering questions about prices of 
clothes. 
- Play the recording more than once, if necessary, ask students to listen and repeat the dialogue. 
- Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking.
- Play the recording again for students to listen and repeat. Activity 2: full controlled & less controlled
Task 1: Controlled practice (Activity 2: Point and say.)
- Use pictures to elicit: Scarf, blouse, jacket, skirt,jumper.
- Point to the first picture and model the task with one student, using the expressions in the 
bubbles and the word under the picture. 
 Teacher: How much is the scarf? Student: It’s 10,000 dong.
- Ask students to say the phrases chorally and individually. Repeat the same procedure with the rest 
of the pictures. 
- Ask students to practice in pairs, using the prompts in the bubbles and the pictures. 
- Call on some pairs to role-play the dialogue in front of the class. Monitor the activity and offer 
help, if necessary. 
Task 2: less controlled.Ask ans answer about prices of clothes.
- Show some cards about clothes.
- Have students choose the picture that they can tell the places using the sentence patterns 
“How much is the ? It’s ...”
- Ask them to interview 3 or 4 friends: one student asks the question and the other answers with 
facts about themselves and then exchange the roles.
- Monitor the activity and offer help if necessary. 
- Call on some groups of students to role-play in front of the class.

story in Activity 1. Then have the class play Slap the board, using the names of the closing items 
and the prices in Activity 2.
Activity 1: Language input (Activity 1: Listen and tick.)
- Introduce the activity by saying ‘You are going to listen to three conversations and tick correct 
box under each picture.’’
- Give a few seconds for pupils to look at the pictures and read the prices Ask them to say the prices 
aloud.
- Play the recording hree times once for pupils to listen all the way through, a second time for them 
to do the task and finally for them to check the answers. Ask them to focus on the price of each 
item.
- Get pupils to swap their answers before you check as a class.

Activity 2: full controlled & less controlled

- Tell the class that they are going to look at the clothes and write the price for each item.
- Go through every picture with pupils and ask them to identify the names of the clothing items 
and their prices. Then have them look at the worked example and write the answers for the 
other pictures. Remind them to mention the colour of each item.
- Set a time limit for them to fill the gaps.
- Call some pupils to read aloud their sentences and check the answers as a class.

Task 2: less controlled. Let’s play.
- Introduce the activity and remind pupils how to play the game Pelmanism.
- Divide the class into small groups. Give each group a set of cards( You may prepare one set of cards 
and then photocopy them). Each group should distribute the cards on the table, face down, a pupil turns 
over a pair of cards.
- Ask groups to play the game in pairs, take turns to open the flashcards to find out the same ones.
