 Good morning/ afternoon!

 Who is absent today?

B. Warm up: Play the game “Physical line-up”

C. New lesson:

1. Listen and tick.

• Tell the class that they are going to listen and tick the correct boxes.

• Give them a few seconds to look at the pictures. Ask them to identify the details in these pictures (1a. A sandwich. 1b. Two sandwiches. 1c. Three sandwiches. 2a. A zoo. 2b. A pagoda. 2c. A museum.) Check their understanding.

• Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen. Play it again for them to do the task.

• Get them to swap and compare their answers before checking as a class. Give explanations for the answers which pupilsfind difficult.

Week 35:
UNIT 20: WHICH ONE IS MORE EXCITING , 
LIFE IN THE CITY OR LIFE IN THE COUNTRYSIDE?
Period 135: Lesson 3(4, 5, 6, 7)
I. Objectives.
After the lesson, Ss will be able to: 
- Use the words and phrases related to the topic: comparing places.
- Develop Ss reading and writing skills.
II. Language focus.
1. Vocabulary: Noisy, noisier, busier, large, larger, small, smaller, expensive, exciting, peaceful, beautiful, cheap, cheaper.
2. Sentence Patterns:
	+ Which one is  , or  ? I think.
 + Which one is more ..., ..... or .? I think. 
III. Teaching aids.
- Equipments in English room.
- Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette.
IV. Procedures. 
A. Class organization. 
 Good morning/ afternoon! 
 Who is absent today? 
B. Warm up.
- Spend a few minutes having the class say the chant: Which one is more?
C. New lesson.
4. Read and answer. 
- Tell the class that they are going to read the text and answers the questions.
- Get them to read the sentences and underlined the new words or new phrases.
- Explain the meaning of new words or new phrases.
- Ask Students to read the text again and do the task.
- Set a time limit for Students to do the task independently.
- Monitor the activity and offer help,if necessary.
- Ask Ss to compare their answers before checking as a class.
- Have Ss give answers.
- Give feedback and correct mistakes of pronunciation.
1. She lives in Liverpool.
2. She often goes to King’s Lynn.
3. King’s Lynn is.
4. Liverpool is.
5. Things in Liverpool are more expensive than in King’s Lynn.
5. Write about where you live.
- Tell Ss that they are going to write about where they live.
- Give them time to discuss what they are going to write and write draft of their writing in the notebook.
- Set a time limit for Ss to do the task independently.
- Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary.
- Ask some Students to read aloud their writing.
- Give feedback.
6. Project
- Tell class that they are going to compare the place where they live with another place.
- Ask Students to work in groups to discuss and select a place to compare with their place.
- Set a time limit for them to do the task.
- Invite some Students to present their talk to the class and talk about the places.
- Give feedback.
7. Colour the stars.
- Have the class read the statements and check their comprehension.
- Give the time to colour the star and invite a few Ss to read the statement aloud.
- Give further support to Ss who find it difficult to achieve certain objectives.
D. Consolidation.
- Tell Ss to write about where they live.
Period 136 +137: REVIEW 4
I. Objectives:
1. Knowledge:

• Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen. Play it again for them to do the task.

• Tell the class that they are going to listen and complete the sentences.
• Give them a few seconds to read the sentences and guess the words to fill the gaps. Check their understanding.
• Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen. Play it again for them to do the task.
• Get them to swap and compare their answers before checking as a class.

• Get pupils to swap and read what they have written before asking a few to read their answers aloud. If there is enough time, call one pupil to write what he/she has written on the board.

Period 138: SHORT STORY
CAT AND MOUSE 4
I. Objectives.: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
 - Read, listen and understand a short story.

III. Teacher aids :
- Textbook, recording, pictures, cassette, puppets
IV. Procedures.
A. Class organization. 
 Good morning/ afternoon! 
 Who is absent today? 
B. Warm – up. 
Play game” slap the board”
C. New lesson.
SHORT STORY: CAT AND MOUSE 4
1. Read and listen to the story. 
- T tells Ss that they are going to read and listen to the story, and then correct the words in red.
- T asks Ss to look at the pictures and asks them some questions.
+ Where are Chit and Miu?
+ What the matter with Miu?
+ What’s Miu going to do with Maurice and Doris?
+ Where’s Mauris?
+ What the matter with him?
- T plays the recording for Ss to listen to the story. 
- T asks Ss to listen to the story and repeat.
- Ask Ss to act out the story. 
2. Answer the questions.
- T tells Ss that they are going to read the story again answer the questions.
- T gives Ss a few seconds and do the task.
- T calls two Ss to write their answers on the board.
- T asks Ss to swap and check their answers.
- T calls a few pairs to practise the conversation. Others observe and give comments.
