Week: 02 Date of teaching: 21/9/2021 Period: 01 + 02 UNIT 1: HELLO Lesson 1 I. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Greet and self- introduction - Language focus: Hello, I’m + name. Hello, name. I’m +name. - Vocabulary: hello, hi, I’m, nice to meet you Miss Hien, Phong, Hoa Nam, Mai, Quan 2. Competence: -Communication, ability to use language (work in groups, talk about greeting) -Ability to solve problems (play the games) -Cooperation: (work in groups/ pairs) - Using language to greet and self- introduction. - Using knowledge to do exercises 3. Quality /Attitude: - Students be more friendly and confident in communicate with their friends and other people. 4. Skills: - Listening and speaking II. Teaching aids: - Lesson plan, book, CD, stereo. III. Methods: - Communicative approach, games activities, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, discussion group, technical present. IV. Procedures. A. Warm up: - Greet the class by saying Hello.Encourage Ps to answer with Hello.Repeat the procedures several times then introduce myself to the class by pointing to myself and say:I’m+ Ms Vinh(my name).Go around the class and say my name to different Ps.Help individuals respond with Hello.I’m + (her/his name).Draw Ps’ attentionto the title of the Unit and check their comprehension.Have them to repeat it once or twice. B. New lesson 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Tell ps that they are going to practise introducing themselves and responding to the introduction( in Vietnamese).Point to the first and picture and elicit the answers of who the characters are( Who is this?). Show Ps how to find the aswers by reading the text in the speech bubbles and explain what happen in the first picture: Mai introduces herslf to Nam,and Nam introduces himself to Mai.Have Ps to repeat the text in the speech bubbles a few times - Repeat the steps with the second picture. - Do choral and individual repetition,point to the characters speaking. - Play the recording for Ps tolisten and say along. 2. Point and say. - Tell Ps they are going to practise saying Hi/Hello.I’m +nameand respond to the greeting - Point to each character in the picture and elicit her/his name and the words to fill the gaps.Write the whole sentences on the board. - Have Ps to repeat the sentences a few times.Repaet the steps with the second picture. - Do choral and individual repetition, usingthe characters’ names as promts until Ps feel confident to say the sentences without their books. - Call an open pairto the front of the class to give a model practice fof the class. - Correct the pronunciation if necessary.Get Ps to work in pairs.Check as a class. 3. Let's talk. - Tell ps that they are going to practise more with their friends and point to each charater elicit the name.Ask Ps to guess what the children say.Fill the gaps and write the sentences on the board. Have them to repeat the sentences a few times. Ps work in pairs or group of three to interact.Call a few pairs to act out the greetings and responses in front of the class.Correct the pronunciation if necessary. C. Homelink : - Practice saying Hi/ Hello to your family members or any peson you meet. • Note: Tell Ps to say Hello to their teachers or adults and Hi to their peers. • Tell sts to do the part 4,5,6 Date of teaching: 24/9/2021 Week: 02 Period: 03 + 04 UNIT 1: HELLO Lesson 2 I. Objectives. - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Pupils can greet each other and say thanks. - Sentence Patterns: How are you? – Fine, thanks. And you? Fine, thank you. - Vocabulary: how, are, you, fine, thanks, thank you, and goodbye 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Ss know to take care of everybody. - Ss love English, friends and teacher. 4. Forming competence: - Active participate in groups, ready to help their friends. - Using knowledge to do exercises. II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... III. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s preparation: CDs player, stereo, book. 2. Student’s preparation: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. IV. Procedures. A. Warm up - Get the class to sing the Hello song. - Lead in the new lesson. B. New lesson 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Introduce the picture and ask some questions about the situations in the picture: + Who are they in the picture? + Where are they?..... * Teach vocabularies: goodbye, bye, fine, thanks,thank you. - Tell sts that they are going to practise saying and responding to Hello/ Hi + ( name) and How are you?. - Check sts to understand. - Procedure the first picture and explain what they say. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Play the recording through for sts to listen to the dialogue. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for sts to repeat. - Divide the class into two groups: one group to repeat Nam’s and the Mai’s part. - Call on sts to practise in front of the class. - Give feedback. * Language note: Tell pupils that they say Goodbye to their teachers or adults and Bye to their friends or peers. 2. Point and say. - Tell ss that they are going to saying How are you? and replying with Fine, thanks/thank you. - Ask sts to look at the pictures: - Give instruction. - Draw sts’ attention to the pictures. - Point to each character in the picture and elicit his/her name. - Write the whole sentences on the board. - Have sts to repeat the sentences a few times. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Ask sts to work in pairs. - Call some pairs practice in front of the class. - Check sts’ mistakes when necessary. 3. Let’s talk. - Look at the picture and introduce. - Tell them that they are going practise more with their friends, using their own names. - In pairs students introduce their name the same in the book. - Have some sts to make a dialogue with their true names. - Call sts to work in pairs. - Do as example if the sts don’t understand. - Look the pic and then work in pairs with the name of pic before class. - Give feedback. C. Reinforcement. Ask ss to repeat the vocabulary and structure. * Vocabulary: goodbye = bye : tạm biệt Fine (adj): khỏe Thank you = thanks : cảm ơn. * structure: How are you? I’m fine,thanks/thank you. - Ask sts practise greeting using Hello/ Hi, . How are you? I’m fine, thank you. - Comment. D. Homelink - Ask sts to do exercises A, B in their workbook. - Tell sts to do the part 4,5,6
