1. One of the most famous writers in history is William Shakespeare. He was born in England in 1564. His plays were called histories, tragedies or comedies. Comedies have happy endings, and tragedies have sad endings. Histories tell stories about kings and queens. One of Shakespeare's most famous tragedies is Romeo and Juliet, which is set in Italy. Romeo and Juliet fall in love, but their families hate each other. Juliet's cousin, Tybalt, is the villain. He starts a fight with Romeo, who is the hero. The play has a very sad ending.
2. Richard III is a history play, set in England. King Richard, the villain, is a bad king who lies, kills, and steals. He is disliked by everyone. At the end of the play, Henry Tudor fights Richard and becomes the new king of England. Henry Tudor is the hero. Comedies are very funny and often end with a wedding. Much Ado About Nothing is a comedy set in Italy. Don John is the villain because he tries to stop Hero and Claudio's wedding. Their friends, Benedick and Beatrice, argue all the time. Slowly, they start to fall in love. At the end, they get married, too.

HARBIN INTERNATIONAL ICE AND SNOW SCULPTURE FESTIVAL
(Jack Brown, January 9) The annual Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival in Harbin, China, is the world's biggest and most famous winter festival. It takes place over one month and attracts more than ten million visitors from all over the world.
There are two main areas of the festival. One is Sun Island, and the other is Ice and Snow World. There are beautiful snow sculptures on Sun Island. In the Ice and Snow World, we can see full-size buildings made from big blocks of ice. During the festival, there's an ice lantern exhibition in Zhaolin Garden, and winter swimming in the Songhua River.
Harbin's Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival will continue to grow and attract many visitors in years to come.

Lan va Diep (Lan and Diep) is a famous tragedy play written by Tran Huu Trang. The play is set in Vietnam and has two main characters (nhân vật chính), Lan and Diep, who promise to marry each other. Diep is a good student. The Official, the villain, forces (ép buộc) Diep to marry his daughter. Lan is very sad so she decides to join a temple. Later on in the play, Diep looks for Lan but she refuses to see him. Many Vietnamese people know this tragedy.

3) A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of William Shakespeare's most popular comedies. The play is set in the forest and tells the adventures of four young people, a group of actors, the king of the fairies, and his queen. Hermia loves Lysander but her father, Egeus, wants her to marry Demetrius. Helena loves Demetrius but Demetrius loves Hermia. To get married secretly, Hermia and Lysander escape from Athens to the forest. Under the magic of the fairy, Lysander falls in love with Helena. After many midsummer night's adventures, Oberon, king of the fairies, helps Lysander to love Hermia again and helps Demetrius fall in love with Helena. A Midsummer Night's Dream is one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays and widely performed across the world.
