- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to understand and write the instructions of making something.

2.Vocabulary : soak , mash , wire mesh ,bucket , wrap , mix ,press .

Date: 06/2/2007 Period: 65 Lesson 5: WRITE I. Aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to understand and write the instructions of making something. II. Language contents: 1. Grammar: verbs and sentences for instructions. 2.Vocabulary : soak , mash , wire mesh ,bucket , wrap , mix ,press . III. Techniques: ask and answer, slap the board .chatting. IV. Procedures: Teacher’s and Students’ activities Content T asks Ss to answer the questions Ss answer the questions T remarks and gives mark Elicit words from Ss Have Ss copy down - T asks Ss to play game ‘ slap the board” Set the scene: Tell Ss they are going to read a text about how to recycle used paper. Put the verbs on the board randomly in a flow chart. Ask Ss to work in groups to guess the order of the actions Call on about 2 pairs to write their answers on the board Explain the process of recycling, using mimes or Vietnamese and correct. Ask Ss to open their books , read the text on page 93 and fill in the verbs .( individual ) Monitor and correct the exercise in the text book T asks Ss to close their books write the sequencing on the board and have Ss to practice speaking first Call on Ss to say the sentences from memory : first , then , next , after that , finally Get Ss to write the text in brief using the sequencing monitor and help Ss with their work T calls on some Ss to read their writing for the class Give feedback and correct -Stick the photocopied pictures on the board randomly T asks Ss to listen and work in groups to rearrange the pictures according to the instructions on how to prepare the tealeaves T reads the instructions aloud T asks Ss to give their answers T corrects if necessary T asks Ss to write the instructions on how to boil vegetables , using the connectors ‘first , next , then , finally “ 1. Warm up : Chatting : What do you usually do with waste paper? What can we do with those clothes? Do you know how people make paper? 2. Pre - writing: * Vocabulary : soak (v) : (to put sth in liquid for a time so that it becomes completely wet ) mash (v) : (mime ) wire mesh : translation bucket (n) : drawing * Slap the board * Ordering prediction soak dry pull out mix press mash 1 à 2 à 3 à 4 à 5 à 6 à Answer key : 1. soak 2. mash 3. mix 4. pull out 5. press 6. dry 3. While – writing Answer key : use 2 . mix 3 .place 4. press 5. wrap 6. wait 7. dry ANSWER KEY : First , soak old newspaper in a bucket overnight Then, mash the paper by a wooden spoon. Next , mix the washed paper with water After that , use a wire mesh to full the mixture out , put it on the cloth and press it down firmly Finally, take the mesh out of the cloth and dry it in the sun. Post writing : a/ First take the used tealeaves from the tea pot b/ Next scatter the tealeaves on a tray c/ Then dry the leaves in the sun d/ Finally , put the dry leaves in a pot for future use 5.
