- Develop their love for nature and protect nature
- Develop their listening, speaking, writing skills

IV/ Procedure:
A. Warm – up (5’)
Students will play the game named “Bingo”
Objective: to help students become familiar with some words that can appear in the tape.
Rule: - The teacher gets the class to brainstorm a list of ten or fifteen words that they have learned in their reading text and puts them on the board.
- The students choose any five and copy them into their paper.
- The teacher reads out the words in any order.
- Each time the student has one of the words that the teacher reads, she/ he puts a tick next to that word.
- The first student to tick all five words shouts “ Bingo”.

Pre-listening (10’) Teaching vocabulary: * Flora: (n) the plants of a particular area. * Fauna (n) all the animals living in an area. Ex: The ecosystem includes fauna and flora. * defeat (v) to win against sb in a war. Ex: Vietnamese people defeated American army in the spring of 1975. * attack (v) to try to kill or injure the enemy in war. Ex: Vietnamese army got victory over enemies by suddenly attacking them. * Ethnic minority (n) a group of people from a particular culture. Ex: Van Kieu, Thai are the ethnic minorities. * Enemy: (n) a person who hates sb or who acts or speaks against sb/sth. Ex: America was the biggest enemy of Vietnamese people in the past. After teaching all words above, the teacher will read through all words and then asks the whole class read them in chorus and individually. While-listening: Activity 1: T/F (10’) The teacher gives the whole class the handouts and asks them to read through all the following sentences, underline some key words, and then asks them to predict the answers. -The teacher will write the answers that Ss predict on the blackboard. -After that teacher will play the tape in two or three times and students will do the exercise individually, then compare their answer with the person next to them. -Teacher will correct the answer with the whole class, compare with the answers that the students predict before. The teacher plays the tape again to help Ss have better understanding. 1. Cuc Phuong is the third national park in Viet Nam. 2. Cuc Phuong was officially opened in 1916. 3. In 2002, nearly 100,000 visitors made their way to Cuc Phuong 4. There are about 2000 different species of flora and fauna. 5. Quen Voi is the place where Nguyen Hue’s army was stationed after it made its surprise attack on Thang Long. Suggested answers: 1: F( first not third). 2: F(1960 not 1916) 3: T 4: T 5: F( before not after) Activity 2: (10’) Teacher asks the whole class to look at the questions in the textbook. Try to answer them with the information that they remember when they listen to the tape in the first exercise. -Teacher calls some good Ss to answer the questions. -T :write their answers on the blackboard so that the teacher can compare the answers after they listen to the tape. -Teacher will play the tape in one or two times( if students can answer all the questions in the first time, the teacher can play the tape in one time). -Ss do the exercise individually and then compare the answers with the person next to them. -Teacher corrects the answer in the whole class. How many provinces does Cuc Phuong National Park belong to? How far is it from Hanoi to Cuc Phuong? What do many people come to Cuc Phuong for? When did Nguyen Hue defeat the Quing invaders? What do the Muong ethnic minority in Cuc Phuong live mainly on? Suggested answers: 1. It belongs to three provinces: Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh, Thanh Hoa. 2. It is about 160km. 3. They come there to visit the work being done to protect endangered species. 4. Nguyen Hue defeated the Quing invaders in the spring of 1789. 5. They live mainly on bee keeping and farming. D. Post- listening: (10’) Work in groups. Talk about the special features of Cuc Phuong National Park.( for ex: the fauna and flora in Cuc Phuong) E. Homework: Write a short paragraph( about 60 words) to introduce to the tourists Cuc Phuong National Park. Using some information they listened in the tape to help their writing.
